Birmingham Energy Institute stand, UK–Qatar Business & Investment Forum

For the Birmingham day of the UK–Qatar Business & Investment Forum on 28 March 2017, run by the Department for International Trade, Gavin designed and organised the University of Birmingham's stand for the Birmingham Energy Institute. He had about a month to do it, and the event organisers were slow to confirm details of the space. The stand combined a screen enclosure built by Innovision, running the Institute's Clean Cold animation with an Arabic translation; graphics by Creative Media at the University of Birmingham, including an illuminated Energy Capital graphic; a Highview Power plinth; and the Dearman engine on its own plinth. Where single-use 'build and burn' construction was proposed, he pressed for demountable pieces that could be reused.
