Policy Evidence Submissions

Policy evidence submissions are formal responses to public consultations and calls for evidence issued by government departments, parliamentary committees, and other regulatory bodies. They represent a critical channel through which academic research and technical expertise can directly inform the legislative and policymaking process. The core purpose of these submissions is to ensure that governmental decisions are grounded in robust, up-to-date evidence. By synthesizing complex research findings, analysing emerging trends, and evaluating the potential impacts of proposed policies, these contributions help bridge the gap between the research community and government, fostering a more informed and effective approach to tackling complex societal and technological challenges.
The evidence contributed to these inquiries often addresses pressing national and international issues, such as the governance of emerging technologies, the formation of industrial strategy, or the development of sustainable infrastructure. These submissions aim to shape the national conversation by providing clear, accessible, and actionable analysis for policymakers. Rather than simply presenting raw data, they translate intricate subject matter into structured arguments, identify potential risks and opportunities, and recommend specific, evidence-based pathways forward. Ultimately, this work seeks to influence the development of resilient, forward-looking policy and regulatory frameworks that are fit for the future.
The following list is a record of evidence submissions that I have been involved in, either as an individual or as part of larger research projects.
